Fandomhood Market Map

Everyone who has tried to put football fans and money together, what happened to them, and the corner of the field Fandomhood is built to hold.

Positioning

Fandomhood runs club loyalty programmes that banks license and pay to distribute.

The club pays nothing and keeps the programme. Several banks per club. Fans earn status; they never buy it.

01
Bank paysPlatform, per-active and €20 new-to-bank fees, measured against a holdout.
02

Where the terrain is open

Whitespace

Nobody runs multi-bank as a platform

Every club–bank deal found is one bank per club. Turkey proves several banks will pay the same club at once (Fenerbahçe has cards with five), but each bank runs its own silo with no shared status or club data.

History

The single-bank model keeps breaking

Barclays shut its club card rails in 2022. comdirect left BVB in 2023; HVB left FC Bayern in 2025 after 22 seasons. Of Brazil's club banks launched since 2019, only Flamengo's and Palmeiras' still run.

Graveyard

Fan-paid models collapsed

CHZ is down 98% from its 2021 peak. Barça received €65M of the €200M agreed for its web3 unit. Bitci stopped paying clubs. Regulators acted on Arsenal's fan-token ads, Sorare, Dapper and DraftKings.

Five ways to slice the field

Each matrix tests one claim about where Fandomhood is different. Positions are judgment scores from the evidence, 0–10 on each axis; the rationale for every dot is in the list below the chart and in the workbook.

    Capital & history

Money raised is not a moat

The best-funded fan products sold fans tradable assets and have shrunk or closed. The bootstrapped loyalty operator kept its customers. Most ideas here have been tried before; the timeline shows by whom.

Capital raised, USD millions (log scale)

Fandomhood's estimated funding (internal estimate v0.1, 15 Oct 2026; nothing raised) shown for scale at €1 = $1.12. Hover a row for what happened.

    What was tried, 1993–2026

      Customers & size

Who buys, and how big it gets

The paying customer is the bank; the club grants the rights. Segments, the SAM and the plan follow plan v4: the founder's AC Milan method for the 11 clubs (15 Oct 2026). The TAM is market context from network model v4.4.

      TAM, SAM and the plan

Circle areas are proportional to club programmes (one club × one bank × one market). TAM: market context from network model v4.4 (every top-division club in 49 markets, every licensed bank). SAM: plan v4 Stretch, what the 11 clubs could reach at the named banks in 30 countries. Inner circle: plan v4 Base. Labels show programmes and recurring fees a year.

      Bottoms-up

Recurring = platform fees plus per-cardholder fees in 2035, when every programme is mature; one-off €20 new-to-bank fees are excluded. The TAM uses plan v4 Base recurring per programme. The SAM is plan v4 Stretch: 150 banks, with the 2% / 5% bank caps binding in Indonesia, Mexico and Saudi Arabia. Total fees in 2031: Base €204.1M, Growth €335.2M, Stretch €434.9M (plan v4). Market potential, not a forecast; nothing is signed. The v3.4 / v3.5 programme economics and the integrated model v4.4 scenarios stay in the workbook (Market sizing) as a record.

Pipeline and bank research by market

Our pipeline status and the named banks researched on 13 Oct 2026, with their football deals, beside each market's plan v4 Base. Plan v4 covers 30 countries; the banks we sell to there, by size, are in Who we sell to below. Rwanda, Ethiopia, Belgium, Switzerland and Lithuania are outside plan v4. All 49 markets and 301 researched banks are in the workbook (Countries & banks, Target banks).

Target clubs: who already banks with them

The clubs researched on 13 Oct 2026 for their current official banks, club cards and banking apps. Only the 11 core clubs are in plan v4, and their rights are treated as available in every market (founder instruction, 15 Oct 2026): the incumbents below are negotiation context, not blockers. Open a club for the plan v4 home lead bank, its incumbents and the earlier decisions.

Club financing: the bond screen on the 11 clubs

Package v4.8 (15 Oct 2026): the 11-club bond model, one proposed new-money tranche per core club, €650M gross face, each closing one quarter before the club's first card launch in plan v4. A club bond arranged by Fanguard and placed by banks; the card licence is a separate contract. Fanguard is a separate company: its fee is never added to Fandomhood, and Fandomhood bond revenue is €0.

Earlier bond key (13 Oct 2026): 46 mid-tier clubs in the priority markets

Kept as research. A Fanguard bond placed by local banks fits mid-tier clubs with expensive debt or a project; none of the 11 clubs is on this list. Rates are mostly undisclosed. The decisions it cites (D69, D72, D74) belong to the earlier network model v4.4.

7.6–10.8%All-in cost of a bank-placed bond to the club (strong to stressed club). Refinancing pays only above ~8.8–9.5%.
2.6–3.3%What Portuguese banks earn for placing Benfica, Porto and Sporting bonds with their clients; €21–65M per issue, no default.
4.5–5.5%What top clubs pay (Inter 4.52%, Barcelona 5.14%): bonds do not open their rights.
Below €12MNo full prospectus from June 2026 (Germany: WIB; Austria: simplified prospectus from €2M). New-money issues of this size are the first product.

      What a €1bn valuation needs in 2031

Fandomhood fees in 2031 by case (plan v4) against the fees a €1bn enterprise value needs at the multiples of the funding and valuation estimate v0.1 (15 Oct 2026). Projections and assumptions; nothing is signed or raised.

Partnership plan v4: the AC Milan method for all 11 clubs

The founder's AC Milan market analysis applied to every core club (15 Oct 2026): for each country the club's realistic fans, Base / Growth / Stretch adoption, the named banks we sell to by size, and the cardholders, cards and fees each club programme brings. Rights are treated as available in every market (founder instruction). A market-potential plan in the ACM format, not a forecast; nothing is signed. Costs, cash and the round are not rebuilt on it. Workbook: Fandomhood Superclub Partnership Plan v4.

      The 11 core clubs

Open a club for its AC Milan-format page: every market with the club's fans, fan status (survey, founder ACM estimate or derived), cardholders at year 3 by scenario, end-2031 Base, banks and the lead bank with its launch quarter.

Countries (Base cardholders at year 3)

Who we sell to: the banks in plan v4

Each bank with the clubs it carries in Base, end-2031 and year-3 cardholders, and their share of the bank's customers in that country. Sorted by the number of clubs, then by cardholders. Banks that only appear in Stretch are listed with no Base clubs.
